A 1-trip container (also called a “one-trip” or “new” container) is a shipping container that has been manufactured overseas—usually in China—loaded with cargo once for its initial journey to the destination country, and then sold.
Key Features of 1-Trip Containers
Condition: They are essentially new, with only minor handling marks or superficial scuffs from that single voyage. They do not have years of wear like used containers.
Lifespan: Because they’re nearly new, they offer the longest service life compared to used grades (cargo worthy, wind- and water-tight, etc.).
Structure: Built to ISO standards with marine-grade steel, factory paint, intact flooring, and fresh seals.
